Our family justice system is struggling to cope with increasing demand and limited resources. As a result of this many families experience delays and other negative experiences in the court system, which are clearly not in the best interest of the children the court seeks to protect.
To help the system cope better by addressing some of the procedural issues, the President of the Family Division, Sir Andrew McFarlane, invited reports from two working groups, one for public law and one for private law cases. These reports have now been published and can be read here.
Comment can also be given via the Only Mums & Dads survey, the summary of which will be submitted to the consultation, which can be found here.
